elastic bandsLet’s talk about resistance training using resistance bands, elastic bands or exertubes. There are various names for these items, but they do the same thing, give resistance to your muscles.

These resistance training bands can be used for general strength, conditioning, rehabilitation or injury prevention.  They are good little pieces of equipment that can be used at home and when traveling. These resistance training bands can be used for training target specific smaller muscle groups.

These resistance training bands come in a variety of colors.  Theelastic band lunge colors do refer to  how heavy the resistance level is.  The easier resistance colors are yellow, green and red.  The harder colors or “more resistant” bands are blue, purple, black and silver.

There are a host of various exercises that can be done with the resistance training bands.  When you arrange these exercises for a full body workout, it can simulate circuit training giving you a cardiovascular workout.

There are some very challenging workouts that can be done with resistance training bands.  It’s a good idea to challenge your muscles in a different way.
