More people start diets tomorrow than they do today.” “Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels.” These are both popular weight loss sayings. The weight loss and weight loss supplements industry is huge and everyone wants to get thin quick. What I tell everyone is you didn’t gain weight over night and there’s no way you will lose weight overnight. It is a lifestyle you have had for sometime. Don’t get all upset about it because you are here on this site to do something about it.

There are things you can do to help with weight loss. The first thing you can do is change your thinking! Think of weight loss as a lifestyle change and not as a diet. For some reason, if we know we can’t have something, we seem to crave it all the more! Why is that? It’s just human nature, it’s like the forbidden fruit. Think of it this way, with weight loss you can have whatever you want, nothing is forbidden. You can have chocolate cake or french fries but these things have to be in moderation! Moderation or portion control is important especially when it comes to protein, carbohydrates and fats!

Drink plenty of water! Water helps to flush out your system and keeps your metabolism up. It also helps to make you feel fuller.

Snacking is good, it’s what you snack on that’s bad. Snack away on vegetables and/or fruit every couple of hours. The more you snack, your metabolism will increase. Did you ever hear that you should eat 4-6 smaller meals a day? This is the exact reason, to keep the metabolism burning.

Weight loss can be achieved without exercise, but it will be at a slower rate. Cardiovascular exercise is what is needed to lose fat.girl drinking bottle Start off slowly for a few minutes each day. Start taking stairs instead of the elevator. Go out for a walk on your lunch break. The exercise doesn’t have to be in one lump some. Experts report, exercise benefits from short increments of exercise throughout the day, ten minutes in the morning, ten more minutes after lunch or even 10 minutes after dinner. It all adds up to more movement and weight loss! Two pounds a week is a healthy weight loss and achievable goal.

Visualization can be a very powerful tool. When you have a few minutes, close your eyes (not while driving), and picture yourself thin or at your goal weight. Keep that visualization in the fore front of your mind, like before you go to bed at night.

Ok, you ate a little more ice cream than you should have…let it go! Don’t dwell on that little bit of extra ice cream. It happened. You did it. MOVE ON! End of thought!

Don’t try to do weight loss all at once! Start drinking more water. Watch portion size, and snack on good food. Make those changes first, then gradually add in your exercise. Get a buddy so you can be accountable, motivational and supportive of each other. MAKE THE TIME FOR YOUR HEALTH!

Remember, “Nothing tastes as good as thin feels!”
